Suitable cable glands must be used to seal cable entries in the distributon cabinet.
Here you will find a comparison table of common screw connection sizes for the cable diameter, as well as the matching hole diameter.
The following factors are decisive when choosing the right cable gland:
Depending on the thread size, cable glands have different clamping ranges for cable diameters.
Comparison table between standard cable glands with PG or metric thread and cable diameter:
Cable glands are used to feed electrical cables into and out of distribution cabinets. The degree of protection of the cable gland must be selected to match the housing in order to protect the installed equipment against external influences (tightness, protection against contact, dust protection).
Important note: For outdoor distribution cabinets, bushings through the roof made by the customer are not recommended, even when using cable glands with the appropriate IP protection class!
The material should be selected depending on the area of application and the type of external influences.
